HISI Election Announcement for the year 2025-2028

Dear HISI Members,

Greetings from the Election Officer, HISI !

The Election Office, HISI, is sending you the Election Notification for HISI Elections for the year 2025-2028. Nominations are invited for filling up the following vacancies of the members of the National Executive Board of the Hospital Infection Society – India (HISI) for the year 2025-2028 (January – December2028) from amongst the life members of the Society.

The number of EB member vacancies shall be elected as follows:

HISI Election Rules and Regulations for the year 2024 – Eligibility Criteria for Contestants

                                                            Qualification for National Executive Board Member

As per amended constitution of the Hospital Infection Society – India (HISI) with effective from May 15, 2017 the National Executive Board consists of 18 members of which three shall be Clinicians, two shall be Medical Administrators and twelve members should be Microbiologists.

One member for the categories of Nursing leadership /Nursing Administrator, Senior ICN, and CSSD Manager (Hospital) will be co-opted during the announcement of the results.

Only those Life members of the Society who have completed at least five (05) years of life membership, shall be eligible to contest the election as a candidate or to propose or second the candidature of any member.

It was unanimously decided during the last General Body Meeting of HISI held at Kolkata that members with a prior conflict of interest on financial matters or other conflicts that might be potentially detrimental for and interests of HISI Organization or its functions and standing are generally deemed ineligible for consideration as candidates for election to HISI Executive Board.

Each nomination should be duly proposed and seconded by a Life member of HISI and the candidate should give consent for the same. Process of nomination and approval by proposer and member seconding the application must be done online. All particulars contained in the Nomination form should be correctly filled up.

The election process is available online on HISI website https://www.hisindia.net  Members are advised to first update their personal profile on the website before initiating the process of nomination. They should also ensure that personal profiles of proposer and member seconding the nomination are updated online. Protocol for voting process will be displayed on HISI website and sent through email once nominations are obtained.

                                                                        Guidelines for electronic voting

Dear Colleagues, 

Greetings from Secretariat of Hospital Infection Society – India!

As you are aware that Hospital Infection Society – India is conducting Online Elections 2024 for the National Executive Board members for 2025-2028. From previous election 2019 onwards, HISI has started using the e-nomination form for HISI elections.

The voting will begin on 9:00 AM and end on at 6:00 PM. To facilitate ease of voting and to maximize the participation of HISI members with security and safety features as required in the conduct of a smooth and transparent online poll.

The guidelines for electronic voting are as follows:

• All members can log into the following election domain https://www.hisindia.net/UserLogin/MemberShipNoVerification  and enter the login with enter Membership No. (Registered with HISI).
• There would be an authentication factor wherein a One Time Password (OTP) would be sent to the registered mobile number of the user with HISI, once the member selects “Generate OTP option”.
• Please keep the election window open until OTP is received and don’t close it until the process is completed.
• This OTP is valid for a period of 30 minutes and the member has to enter the last OTP received in the login page in order to obtain access to the voting page for participating in the online elections.
• Members whose mobile numbers are not registered or incorrectly registered with HISI are advised to please update their profile urgently at secretariat@hisindia.net  
• Notification messages would be sent to the registered mobile numbers of the users to intimate and remind the members to cast their vote when the election window is open.
• Eligible voters can log into the https://www.hisindia.net website or directly on the election domain to cast their valuable vote during the election period.
• Guideline on voting, is available on the https://www.hisindia.net website also.

                                                        Instruction for filling and submission of Nomination form

1. Read Election rules regulations & guidelines for electronic voting 

2. Submit online nomination form

3. Upload your photo (JPEG -1 MB max)

4. Please upload scanned Copy of Aadhar card with self-attestation

6. The Last date for submission of Nomination is 22nd December, (Sunday) 5:00 pm 

7. Withdrawal of Nomination can be done by 2nd January, 5:00 PM.  

Voting Instructions

All voting members will receive a Voting Link via Email and SMS.

Technical Issues:

If there is a network disconnection or other issues, the link remains valid. You can proceed by getting the OTP and continue voting.

Once a vote is cast, no changes are allowed.

The election office, HISI would accept duly filled e-nomination forms on or before up to 5:00 pm 22nd December 2024.

The Candidates are required to give the following declaration on the e-nomination form.

I hereby declare that I have read the Election Notification. I have never been arrested/prosecuted and convicted by criminal court of involved in any case registered by the police. I consent to this nomination and that the information given herein above is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
